About the author:
Roxana Calderón, is an American writer, born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in the Dominican Republic. Her first book, "La Casa de las Maletas," published by DWA Press (2019, NYC),is a collection of poems about emotional bagagge and coodependant relationships. In her second book and first self-published work, titled "Esto no es poesía,"(October 2023, NYC), Roxana again uses her voice and vulnerability to address universal but often unspoken situations through her poetry.
Calderon's writing has been shared on platforms such as La Galería Magazine ("A Summer in New York" in 2019), Dominican Writers ("Las Hijas de Machepa" in 2019) and Spanglish Voces Magazine ("El Componente" and "Confesión a un desconocido" in 2020).
In addition, Roxana has contributed to the anthology "Just Listen / Solo Escucha" (2019) from the Americas Poetry Festival in New York, the Latin American anthology "El vuelo más largo", published by Ángeles del Papel Editores in Peru and Ni de aquí, ni de allá, by Dominican Writers.
Calderón currently serves as volunteer editor-in-chief of the digital literary magazine Spanglish Voces and collaborates with the Dominican Writers Association.
